With her self-titled album Carrellee, the Madison, Wisconsin-based artist Carrellee presents a dark, elegant mixture of synthpop, darkwave, new wave, goth-pop, darksynth, and disco noir. Released on May 2, 2025, it is her second full-length album, following Scale of Dreams from 2022. Across eleven tracks, Carrellee combines melancholic electronic music with strong pop songwriting. Synthesizers and programmed rhythms form the foundation, but guitars, bass, and additional production give individual songs their own character. The result sits comfortably between the darkwave club and synthpop worlds: atmospheric and introspective, but also melodic and accessible.
