Born in Montevideo in 1962, Alberto "Mandrake" Wolf has been one of the defining figures of Uruguayan popular music since the early 1980s. After three decades leading his former band, Los Terapeutas, he returned to the local music scene in 2017 with Mandrake y los Druidas, a supergroup formed alongside a younger generation of musicians and built around a powerful, high-energy take on classic rock 'n' roll. Their self-titled debut album, "Mandrake y los Druidas" (2017), was warmly received by critics and audiences alike, earning three major Graffiti Awards in 2018: Best Band, Best Album, and Best Rock & Blues Album. In 2020, they released "Sortilegio", further developing the band's sound while broadening its musical horizons. Three years later came "La Suite de Raymundo", an immersive and uncompromising work built around a 16-minute-and-30-second musical suite, earning two Graffiti Awards in 2024 for Best Songwriter and Best Artwork. In 2026, the band returned with its fourth studio album, "Un Plan Perfecto", continuing to evolve while remaining unmistakably true to its identity.
