WHAT IS COBRASIDE?
Cobraside is a small family business established in 2001 based in Glendale (Los Angeles County) California. We are a record distributor, meaning we operate a warehouse where record labels and manufacturers send their products for resale, so record stores can order their inventory at wholesale pricing (basically we are your local record dealer’s record dealer). We specialize in the distribution of both independent and major label releases of LPs, CDs, and cassettes to retailers near and far!
If, however, you are a member of the public and have fallen to our wholesale B2B site by accident, we do sell select titles directly to the public across the site www.cobrasiderecords.com
WHY COBRASIDE?
We are a tight-knit crew of about ten employees, we enjoy taking the time to build relationships with our stores, and we can customize our approach to match each store’s customer base. Having such a small yet diverse team gives us the advantage of a collective pool of musical knowledge, which we love to share with each other and our clients. HOW DO I ORDER?
If you’re a retailer or retailer local to Los Angeles, we encourage you to come in and browse our catalogue in person! To browse our catalogue and place an order online, sign up for our B2B mailing list (B2B site). To our valued clients and friends,
If you would indulge us for a moment while we say something that is hopefully already self-evident, we here at Cobraside would like to address and make it perfectly clear that we do not stand with the recent, rapid developments in our national politics and discourse. We cannot in good faith stand by quietly in the face of the racism, transphobia, misogyny, and fear mongering that our government is currently promoting. We are made up of a diverse group of people and we strive to make Cobraside a safe and welcoming place for our clients AND our staff. Some may say “keep politics out of business” but music has always been and always will be inherently political – we all come from a background of believing in punk ethos – believing in the power of community and the standing against fascism, racism, homophobia, transphobia and any other ideology that threatens the well being of marginalized people. It’s very unclear what the future will bring for any of us but we will do our best to keep doing what we’ve always done as a business – help small businesses thrive despite being in the shadow of corporate greed and provide a welcoming atmosphere for our staff and anyone who visits or calls or does business with us.
