| Melbourne psychedelic stalwarts, The Sand Pebbles have a new album. This is their first release in six years and their first US release. The Antagonist is the seventh full length LP from this legendary group and will be available on limited edition blended colour vinyl with a lovely insert and gatefold CD. Both editions are in small numbers. The Sand Pebbles psych sounds are a blend of Television-like dual guitar attack, Krautrock/Eno textures and decidedly modern beats. Andrew Tanner's strong voice gives the band a classic folk feel. Think Fred Neil. The Sand Pebbles show their Melbourne roots, the town that has given us Nick Cave, Dave Graney, Kim Salmon and Penny Ikinger. Members of the group also release records as The Woodland Hunters and Silver Sun. Career Records is pleased to have The Sand Pebbles join their stable of artists, as a co-release with Kasumuen Records in Melbourne. |
