| Katatonic is a band of four disaffected Los Angeles locals. Their sound is reminiscent of First Wave LA Punk bands put out by a youthful Slash Records mixed with a healthy dose of Kay Records 90s Indie that is shredded, tuned down a whole step, and case-hardened at 1000 degrees. None of this is lost in their recordings. The Katatonic EP was recorded for Devour Records in 16 hours, with assistance from Nick Townsend, a seasoned and talented engineer with a list of credits a mile long. These songs capture them in all their raw, unpolished energy, while simultaneously being a gem of crisp and clear recording. A perfect snapshot of a band at the dawn of their career. |
