D.O.A. did their first full on tour of the U.K. and Europe in 1984. It was gruel-a-thon, 50 shows in 60 days in 10 different countries. At the end of the tour the band was about to fly home from London back to Vancouver when they got an offer from the BBC to record a "live" studio session. So the day before the flight home Canada's punk pioneers paid a visit to BBC Headquarters in London. Steel Pulse was just finishing up their session and then D.O.A. took over the studio and reeled off an explosive four song "live off the floor" session for the U.K's top DJ John Peel. During the 10 hour session D.O.A., the Men of Action recorded General Strike, Race Riot, Season in Hell and Burn It Down. It was an exhilarating end to a groundbreaking tour, wherein many Europeans saw punk rock for the first time and the band that coined "hardcore" helped set the standard for what punk rock could be and could reach for.

Modernettes were pop punk phenoms from Vancouver, Canada, whose scene Jack Rabid of The Big Takeover magazine called the greatest undiscovered punk/new wave scene of the late 70s, early 80s. Joey Shithead went deep into the Sudden Death vault and came up with some super exciting and raw punk rock. The album title and art concept is spike haired nod of the head to that early, dynamic era of D.O.A. and to the seven great former members of D.O.A., who have passed on. Their spirit and talent played a huge role into launching the band into worldwide prominence. The two constants on the album are Joey Shithead and Chuck Biscuits who play on every track. On 1978 you hear the origins of hardcore and you get a full blast of D.O.A's politics and raucous humour.

D.O.A. did their first full on tour of the U.K. and Europe in 1984. It was gruel-a-thon, 50 shows in 60 days in 10 different countries. At the end of the tour the band was about to fly home from London back to Vancouver when they got an offer from the BBC to record a "live" studio session. So the day before the flight home Canada's punk pioneers paid a visit to BBC Headquarters in London. Steel Pulse was just finishing up their session and then D.O.A. took over the studio and reeled off an explosive four song "live off the floor" session for the U.K's top DJ John Peel. During the 10 hour session D.O.A., the Men of Action recorded General Strike, Race Riot, Season in Hell and Burn It Down. It was an exhilarating end to a groundbreaking tour, wherein many Europeans saw punk rock for the first time and the band that coined "hardcore" helped set the standard for what punk rock could be and could reach for.

It was named the single of the week in the British press in October 1981. Five classic D.O.A. anthems are stacked into these grooves and that helped pave the way for Canada's legendary punks that went on to shake up the world musically and culturally. Modernettes were pop punk phenoms from Vancouver, Canada, whose scene Jack Rabid of The Big Takeover magazine called the greatest undiscovered punk/new wave scene of the late 70s, early 80s. This is the first time Teen City, the group's first release (produced by the legendary Bob Rock in his seminal days) has been reissued since 1979, a good thing, as it is a timeless classic.
