Formed in Philadelphia in 1974 Pure Hell were the first all African-American punk band. The band was a huge influence on Bad Brains, friends with the New York Dolls, and shared a stage with Sid Vicious, but due to management issues were only able to release this one single before breaking up in 1978. The single and their one unreleased album, which has finally seen the light of day, show that Pure Hell were not only ground breaking for their skin color but for their snotty and gritty post-glam punk sound.

Formed in 1977 Boston by former choir boy Richie Parsons, Unnatural Axe were arguably Beantown's first and best punk band. Too punk rock to be just another UK '77 clone, Unnatural Axe pounded out their very own brand of three-chord aggression. Though they opened for just about every major touring band in their two year existence, they only managed to release one 7-inch EP. Those 4 songs now command nearly half a G on the open market, a testament to the quality and originality of the band. Fortunately, Radiation Reissues is here to save broke punk fans everywhere by releasing the first ever official reissue of this legendary KBD 7-inch with a reproduction of the original pic-sleeve. A totally unobtainable American punk rock classic is finally back in print.

Hailing from London's working class East End, The 4-Skins formed in 1979 at the very onset of Oi! music. By the time this, their 2nd full length, was released in 1983 by the Syndicate Records label, the group had gone through numerous line-up changes and were now sporting a heavier, more melodic, hard rock-based sound fronted by ex-Last Resort vocalist, Roi Pearce. One of the hardest hitting punk albums of the '80s A Fistful Of 4-Skins is reissued here on LP with 2 tracks ("On The Streets" from the 'Son Of Oi!' compilation and a demo version of 'Saturday') added as bonus!

The Good, The Bad & The 4-Skins is the debut LP - originally released on Secret Records in 1982 - from East End Oi! legends The 4-Skins. Recorded with the first stable line-up after numerous changes, fronted by legendary vocalist Panther (who stepped in after the original singer Gary Hodges' defection), this is violent, political, and as real as Oi! gets, this is one of the absolute classic LPs of the genre. Featuring studio recordings on Side A and amped up live versions of such OI! classics as "A.C.A.B" or "Chaos" on Side B, the album remains a coherent punk masterwork, which also happens to include - in the first song of the LP, 'Plastic Gangsters' - one of the best British 2-tone ska tracks of all-time, composed and sung by 4 Skins' original drummer Gary Hitchcock. Originally released in 1985, this is the sole album by Tony Cadenas' own THE ABANDONED, the band he formed after the ADOLESCENTS original break up in 1981. Sounding a lot like Tony's original band but with an heavier GERMS' influence, and a more metallic, darker, almost Motorhead-esque touch. As long as Adolescents got back on track, right before releasing their mid 80's comeback masterpiece 'Brats In Battalions' this obscure page of California punk rock history got completely forgot and never reopened until today. A band that really pushed the boundaries for the time while sticking to their roots, something most bands were not able to do. A must for all California Punk Rock maniacs out there!

23 tracks spanning the Upstarts' early singles for independent labels, from the groundbreaking "The Murder of Liddle Towers" released in 1978 to the controversial "Brighton Bomb" from 1985. The group formed in South Shields in 1977 and are still active to this day. Part of the late '70s/early '80s HC/punk explosion out of the Los Angeles area, where bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minutemen, and Bad Religion originated from, Anti formed in 1979 by a then teenage Danny Phillips, better known as Danny Dean, who was the bassist/guitarist and first original vocalist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member throughout multiple lineup changes during the past 40 years. Their 1982 debut album, 'I Don't Want To Die In Your War', was recorded and mixed by legendary producer and sound engineer for Black Flag and Descendents, Spot. It is a major example of California hardcore from the early '80s. Despite having been completely underrated, Anti's 1982 debut paved the way for a lot of California punk to come. Available again for the first time after almost four decades on its original format, with its original artwork and complete with insert thanks to Radiation Records.

Their debut album, which reached #31 on the UK charts, was originally released on the Rondelet label in 1981. It was Gary Bushell (who wrote for "Sounds" and was later dubbed the 'Godfather of Oi!') who brought the band to the attention of his friend Chris Berry, who had just set up No Future records with a bank loan and high hopes. No Future 001 (and Blitz's debut release) was a 4-track EP titled All Out Attack, a 20,000-copy bestseller that made the label's fortune, later to become the most representative of the whole UK82 movement. Its follow-up, Never Surrender, reached number 2 on the Indie charts, while their 3rd EP, Warriors, showed their slight move towards the sing-a-long style of classic Oi! Recorded live at the legendary Lyceum in London in April of 1982, just after the release of their second 7" (with a few tracks from the Skunx club in Islington recorded a few weeks later) this is the band at their absolute live peak. Crucial UK OI! recorded live, the way the genre was meant to be heard, with a beer in one hand and the other with a fist in the air. Blazing and brutal and classic UK82.

Formed in 1983, when punk may not have been dead, but it was definitely very close, by two DISCHARGE members, brothers Tony "Bones" Roberts and Terry "Tezz" Roberts, BROKEN BONES rescued UK punk from oblivion. Their first single, "Decapitated", was released in January 1984 and reached number 10 on the British independent charts, and the follow up single "Crucifix" was released in May of the same year, inevitably it scored just as highly as the predecessor, and proved that Broken Bones meant serious business. Originally released on the FALL OUT label in 1987, "Decapitated" collects their 1984-1986 production of singles, including the aforementioned debut 7" and Crucifix 7", along with the "Seeing Through My Eyes!" 10" and the "Never Say Die" 12".

Originally released on venerable Posh Boy Records in 1981, and reissued on the legendary UK label No Future to support their ever-growing European fan base, the "CH3" EP started the long and twisted career of one of the longest running bands among the prime movers of California Punk Rock. Hailing from the thriving community of Cerritos, whose frantic rhythms provided a natural soundtrack for boredom and outrageous alcohol abuse, Channel 3 were was formed by friends-since-third-grade Mike Magrann and Kim Gardener in 1980. Even though after their 'CH3' 12" and the seminal "Fear Of Life" LP the band kept moving towards a more technical approach, experimenting with other forms of music, their early production remains an archetype of young, angry, desperate suburban California punk rock. Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing, the debut album from Discharge originally released in 1982, is widely considered to be a defining statement of hardcore and punk in general. Formed in early stages of the British punk explosion by four high school mates in Finchley, north London, Eater quickly established themselves as one of the youngest and rawest bands on the scene. Lead singer Ashruf Radwan had an Egyptian heritage, hidden by his alias, Andy Blade, and guitarist Brian Haddock became Brian Chevette once in the fold; Ashruf's brother Lutfi was the group's first drummer, joining under the name Social Demise, but was soon replaced by Roger Bullen, playing under the moniker Dee Generate, while future Vibrator Ian Woodcock was the resident bassist from their second gig. Inspired by a line in the T Rex song, "Suneye," Eater was influenced by the classier side of glam rock but was very much a rapid-fire power-punk concern with their own output. Headlining spots at the Roxy club alongside The Damned, The Lurkers and Sham 69 solidified their reputation, especially once their material made it onto the live compilation album issued by Harvest in 1977, and after footage of their appearances at the club were included in Don Letts' Punk Rock Movie. Signing to Dave Goodman's fledgling punk imprint, The Label, Eater issued three singles before their greatly anticipated debut album (which surfaced after future Slaughter and the Dogs member Phil Rowland joined on drums), which has since been hailed as an all-time classic; pointing their fingers at upper-class twits on songs like "Lock It Up" and taking the piss out of themselves and their fans on "No Brains," the album also features two Velvet Underground covers and an unusual David Bowie adaptation, all delivered in no- holds-barred triple time. Charged G.B.H. are one of the original and best of the UK82 groups along with The Exploited and Discharge. Combining the raw, brutal energy of the first wave of punk with the pounding beat of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Charged G.B.H., or G.B.H. for short, released their debut album 'City Baby Attacked By Rats' in 1982 and quickly rose up the charts, reaching #2 on the UK indie chart. Praised by Keith Moon as "the greatest band" he'd ever seen and ignored or hated by just about everybody else in London at the time, The Hollywood Brats left a mark on '70s rock music and the development of punk that was rivaled only by their US counterparts, The New York Dolls. The Brats trafficked in a particular brand of post-Stones snotty rock and glam that presaged the punk era by a half decade. They recorded a fantastic LP in the early '70s but were unable to find a label and eventually disbanded in 1975, just before their album was finally released in Norway. Taking his stage name from a classic Prince Buster song, Judge Dread (born Alexander Minto Hughes) was one of the most popular UK reggae artists of all-time. Known for his salacious humor and over the top live shows Dread was a favorite among UK rude boys. The year 1975 was a big one for Judge Dread, he released several highly charting singles, including his over-the-top rendition of Serge Gainsbourg's sultry classic "Je T'Aime" and the naughty holiday classic "Christmas in Dreadland." The album Bedtime Stories, originally released late in 1975, reached the Top 30 of the UK charts. Featuring those singles and a host of other Dread classics, the album showcases Judge Dread's unique brand of braggadocio mixed with self-deprecating humor. Started in late 1977 in Darlington, UK, after Con Larkin and his little brother Paul tried their hands at bass and singing respectively, legendary punkers Major Accident were initially influenced by the Pistols and the Clash. They toured the UK extensively before going to the studio, adding more originals to their set as time went on. However, a very sad fate befell their early studio activities: both their first recording session in 1980, which was supposed to be their debut single ('Terrorist Gang' b/w 'War Boots') and the following one, which produced a completely mucked-up, unusable first edition of this LP, remained unreleased for years. It took until late 1982 for their first proper release to see the light of day: produced by Donkeys' guitarist Neil Ferguson, their debut album 'Massacred Melodies' finally came out on Step Forward, supported by a full UK tour with label-mates CHELSEA. The distinctive 'Clockwork Orange' image (they were the first punk band to adopt the look from Kubrick's famous movie, which was banned in the UK at the time and impossible-to-see anywhere) and their songwriting, by far more peculiar than the average UK82 punk band, allowed them to grow a sizeable following, and their classic sleeve artwork by Paul Dillon started appearing on the back of more than a few black leather jackets. As suggested by the name of the group, Newtown Neurotics was a product of suburban Britain. Formed in 1979 in the anonymous town of Harlow in Essex (which had been established as a planned city to house displaced families in the aftermath of World War II), lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Steve Drewett took an openly socialist stance within the band, steering their music in a bid for stimulating social change, much in the manner of Joe Strummer in The Clash or punk troubadour, Billy Bragg; The Ramones also provided early musical inspiration, along with the deep and heavy sounds of roots reggae from Jamaica. Their proper debut album arrived in 1983 in the form of Beggars Can Be Choosers, a masterwork of political punk with pop and reggae leanings; in addition to spurring their listeners to wake up and take direct action on the disc, the album also addresses teen angst, messy relationships and the caustic nature of boredom and apathy, as well as gender inequality and racial tensions. Closing number, "Living With Unemployment" was co-written by JM Carroll and Nicky Tesco of The Members.

Formed in 1979 in the northern English town of Fleetwood, Lancashire (a former major fishing port that had declined since the 1960s), One Way System was one of the most highly-rated 'street punk' groups that spun off from the British hardcore and Oi scenes. Mowhawk-sporting lead singer Gavin Whyte was initially joined by guitarist Craig Halliday, bassist Gaz Buckley and rapid-fire drummer Tez McDonald; the early demos of "Jerusalem," "Spokesmen For Teenagers" and "1980s" included here were cut with that lineup, before former Zyklon B member David "Crabby" Ross joined as second guitarist, yielding the incendiary single "Stab The Judge" and the No Entry EP, issued by Blackpool's Lightbeat Records in 1981. Halliday later quit the group and when McDonald joined The Fits, accomplished drummer Tommy Couch brought a totally different musical dimension, his command of the kit well beyond the abilities of most of his contemporaries. In addition to the demos and the Lightbeat material, this compilation also collects the singles and EPs issued by Cherry Red's Anagram subsidiary between 1982-84, including the inaugural 45, "Give Us A Future." They had previously released numerous singles and compilation tracks, but this live album -recorded in Hammersmith, Wood Green and their original stomping ground, Brighton- was their biggest release. Not many bands debut with a live album, but for Peter & The Test Tube Babies, who were at that point legends for their live shows, it made perfect sense.

Culled from an Olympic studios demo session and rehearsals in Detroit for the band's 1973 tour, Move Ass Baby runs the gamut from full-fledged, ready-to record tunes to the types of swampy jams that the band has claimed indicative of their studio songwriting process. This album explores the creative process that gave birth to nearly all the Stooges albums. Starting with a jam session, an oldie or two, or maybe a blues riff, the songs gradually took shape and were refined from there. Here we find the Stooges in rehearsal, messing around with songs by Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, Cream, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. We hear the beginnings of songs that never went any further, such as "Old King Live Forever", "I Come From Nowhere" or "Wild Love", which had as much potential as any of their best material. And we have some very impromptu jams such as "Move Ass Baby" and a fascinating James Williamson solo performance. Much of this material has never been heard before and this is the first time this collection has been released on vinyl! Gatefold sleeve, 3-sides of music on 2 discs.

Formed in 1978 by David Corboy, senior citizen in Northwest punk rock, (who had been playing in bands since 1963!), Portland's KBD punk legends SADO-NATION released their groundbreaking debut EP in 1980, and switched right after to faster and tighter H/C punk mostly thanks to the addition of the singer Mish Bondage to the band. Voted best female vocalist by Flipside in 1984, Mish's frightening stage presence and meaningful lyrics, gave Corboy's compositions a new twist, which resulted in one of the most hidden treasures of American '80s H/C punk history. SADO-NATION's first LP, originally released on the Brainstem label in 1982, is now legitimately reissued on vinyl for the first time in 30 years. After years of struggle and despair, hundreds of punk record collections can now be easily completed.

Hailing from the SoCal working class town of Rosemead, the Simpletones only released one single on Posh Boy and had 5 tracks on the classic comp 'Beach Blvd', before breaking up but their influence on the punk scene is still felt today. They were one of the first West Coast groups to truly incorporate a melodic, pop-punk sound into their repertoire, and their influence can be seen from the 80s melodic hardcore of The Descendents and Bad Religion to the 90s revival of Green Day and The Offspring and beyond. The second band ever signed to the Posh Boy label, The Simpletones counted among its members, Snickers of The Klan, Jerry Koskie and Rabit from The Cheifs and Jay Lansford of the Stepmothers, CH3, Rik L Rik and the Urge fame. Collected here are all 20 tracks the group recorded during its original tenure from 1978 to 1980. Unbelievably classic first wave LA punk rock back in print on LP for the first time in over a decade.

The Vibrators, much like The Stranglers, were significantly older than the other bands comprising the London punk scene in 1977. What they lacked in refined skill, they made up for with insidiously catchy songwriting that captured the minimalist energy of their younger punk rock peers. Formed in 1979, Vicious Rumours were among the prime movers of the early UK OI! scene, along with the 4 Skins, the Business, Angelic Upstarts and the like. Unfortunately, scoring an original average condition for less than 150$ is almost impossible, and that makes this long-awaited reissue - which comes complete with a full reproduction of the original printed inner sleeve - very much needed.
