Clever as a bag of snakes, the Combo flew in former Dirtbombs bass ace Jim Diamond from Detroit. This legendary music producer - who worked with the likes of The Sonics and The White Stripes - came to Belgium to mix the analogue recordings on the spot. It could be Diamond's magic touch, but no other FFC studio album comes this close to the raw jaw-dropping live sound the sextet always fire off. Fifty Foot Combo deliver originals like only they can, surfing the soul, trashing the garage. Their already wide-ranging rock & roll amalgam has expanded even more, ranging from big beat exotica to a Wall Of Sound bonanza, at times well equipped for some Tim Burton directed spaghetti western Hammer flick. The Swampy's were flying the flag for Wallonian psychobilly in the second half of the eighties, but folded too soon. Whenever Drunkabilly chief Christophe ran into frontman Jo Psycho, he would tell him over and over to bring back The Swampy's. In 2009 Jo ultimately went for it, picked up new band mates and had a blast at the 3rd Old-School Rockabilly Psychosis Night in Antwerp, sending a crowd of both diehards and youngsters into a frenzy. Shows from Russia to America followed as further proof The Swampy's are in demand again. And now, a mere 25 years after the release of 'Come Back To The Swamp', the second album is here! "Last One Before Snuffin' Out????" brings the early psychobilly sound to this century with a bang. All the songs are as vibrant as a Swamp Stomp can be. To drive the point home: although 'The Coffin Maker' was a choice cut on the first Swampy's EP, the recent recording has far more vigor. For Jo - who hand-crafted his sharp-shaped carbon bass himself - there's one big difference compared to the eighties: "I was always drunk on stage. These days I only drink beer after the show, so I play much better!" We'll drink to that, more than one before snuffin' out. 		CD

After breaking free from the original Meteors line-up, Nigel Lewis and Mark Robertson blazed another trail with the Tall Boys. They rocked beyond compare until the final kick in 1987, leaving behind a scattered discography. Besides some live appearances and demo recordings in the following decade, the band was a dormant volcano. Now fast forward to 2008 when Drunkabilly released the latest Nigel Lewis and The Zorchmen album. During the tours that followed a few Tall Boys classics were part of the live set. Needless to say the punters loved it! This triggered a much anticipated reunion of Nigel, Mark and Tall Boys lead guitarist from the get-go: Jez Alan. Added to the ranks is Belgian bass heavyweight Jens de Waele, known from cult bands such as Death Valley Surfers and Fifty Foot Combo. These gents had a plan: finally record the first full-length Tall Boys studio album. They pulled out all the stops, went to Doyle's Camden Recording Studios for a proper sound and nailed fourteen songs - old, new, borrowed and brewed. "One" is as genre-defying as ever in trademark Tall Boys style, which also shines through in salutes to Link Wray, The Gun Club and 77 punk (yes, the biggest Adverts hit). Moreover the folkabilly rendition of crowd favourite "Ride This Torpedo" is a double-decker buzz! Before the groove locks, the sixties murder shuffle "psycho" forms a twisted epilogue for an album that's truly one of a kind. This "One" is beyond the pale for stuck-up purists, but a marvelous ride for rock & roll daredevils.
