HIVE MIND - BENEATH TRIANGLE AND CRESCENT
Some of the most
dark and industrious Hive Mind material to date, originally released on
Heath Moerland's Fag Tapes imprint back in 2008. The more structured
and rhythmic construction of these pieces is infused with an
inspiration taken from 90s German and French heavy electronics projects
like Dagda Mor, Inade, Derniere Volonte and Les Joyaux de la Princesse.
Recorded heavily under the crushing presence of opiates, even the song
titles themselves play a part in casting the negative shadow of this
release. This contains some of Hive Mind's earliest forays into both
melody and industrial rhythmic elements as the pieces drag, thud and
shiver with a distinct energy not found in much of the earlier drone
work. Auto-melodic tones come paired at times with crude, hand-hammered
slews of notes while Holger's trademark synth-drone rumbles beneath
like a kept beast. Each piece progresses to nastier and darker
territory, erupting and collapsing at the end of the title track.

JFK - NGANGA
JFK is a solo
project of Anthony Di Franco of RAMLEH/SKULLFLOWER/AX. In 1987 JFK
released their first album on Broken Flag. In 2017 JFK release their
first full-length album on Chondritic Sound.
Present here are the dense metallic tones characteristic of Di Franco's
earlier AX pieces, constantly changing and shifting between crushingly
oppressive and blissful overtones. These shards of sound spin seemingly
out of control, at times kept in place with the assistance of staccato
thuds, or the occasional blast of machine-gun rhythms. The pieces fall
where they may throughout most of the album, a caustic and dangerous
creation. As the record draws to a close, the sounds of distress and
collapse are relieved by a choir-like transformation, smothered under
layers of distorted metal and synth. This is followed by an almost
devotional organ drone, but in this context it still manages to evoke
the sinister -
the proud architect of decay, surveying the results of their labor.

PURE GROUND - GIFTGARTEN
"Giftgarten" is an
LP presenting 10 songs written and recorded over four seasons by the
dark electronics duo Pure Ground. Largely abandoning the hard one-two
rhythms of the group's first full-length recording, "Standard Of
Living", "Giftgarten" gives further exploration into the murky, acrid
wastes of toxic marshes and nervous nights only heard in brief moments
on "Standard".
Giftgarten is available in the USA on LP from Chondritic Sound, and in
Europe on LP from Italy's Avant! Records and CD courtesy of Eric Van
Wonterghem's Sleepless Records Berlin.

SHREDDED NERVE - IN THE SHADOW OS WHAT NEVER WAS
Shredded Nerve is
the solo noise project of Justin Lakes, formed in mid-2012 and based
out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Shredded Nerve began to take root after the
dissolution/transformation of previous projects. Focusing primarily on
layers and composition utilizing mostly tape loops along with junk
metal, static and basic synthesizer drones. In The Shadow of What Never
Was is the first full length record by Justin Lakes aka Shredded Nerve.
Written and recorded throughout 2014 in a frenzied state during a final
year in his birthplace; In The Shadow Of What Never Was is a meditation
on the transformative effects of near death experiences. Aiming to
connect observed parallels between chaotic events in the lives of
strangers and my own understanding of stressful environments. Edition

card.
