We're proud to
announce the reissue of the first album by Angeli, after 25 years
finally for the first time on vinyl.
After the split up of Negazione, Angeli was the new band born in Turin
thanks to the urgency of Massimo Ferrusi (Stinky Rats, Indigesti,
Negazione, Persiana Jones) and Roberto Farano (5 Braccio, Negazione,
Declino, Mgz, Fluxus) to come back making music together and set on
fire the stages.
Joined by Luca Marzello on bass, the group in August 1996 went to the
Black Studios in France together, along with the producer Ian Burgees
(Big Black, Ministry, to name just two..) and released this record.
The album musically collects the legacy of Negazione, while the
melodies of the lyrics are influenced by the Seattle movement, in that
period at its peak.
Originally released on Free Land Records only on CD, will be now
available in LP version with download card attached from Friday 2
September.

Barmudas was born in
Florence in 2017. The father was a punk rocker Bovver Boy and the
mother was an English glam rocker Wanton Lady, both born in the 70s,
both boots equipped, both fucking crazy.
The four (maybe unwanted) sons, after have been kicked out from home,
have finally succeeded in making their parents proud, playing a dirty
glittered shiny cheap mixture of wild rock'n'roll and killer
ass-shaking tunes.
In these songs it's possible to trace back sparkles of Slade, Sweet,
New York Dolls and much more, all shaken together with a secret
component in a strong heavy Barmudas drink. These sparkles are going to
cause a big blast that will contribute to keep alive the sacred fire of
dirty rock'n'roll, even in troubled times. An explosion of energy,
wildness and urge to party hard.

BRADIPOS IV - LOST WAVES
Two years after
their last EP entitled "The Partenophonic Sound Of The Bradipos Four",
the surf combo has gone back to the studio, influenced by their
Californian tour. More than the ocean the inspiration came from the
desert traversed to reach Las Vegas and Joshua Tree.
An instrumental album more than a surf one, even if their opening track
is a cover originally written by Ray Hunt and played for the first time
in 1961 from the Surfmen. Two more covers, 'A Heartful Of Nothing'
written by Chris Barfield and 'Siboney' written by Ernesto Lecuona,
among nine new and original songs.
Not so close to class surf, rather with a personal touch, that has been
a trademark for this Italian band from the beginning.
An album dominated by the minor tones and so a little bit melancholic,
as the artwork reminds us, and always well-planted feet in their
Mediterranean origins.

CONTRAZIONE - CIELI ROSSI SULL'EUROPA/CONTR-AZIONE 1983-85
Contrazione was a collective of political elaboration and text-music production that was active in Turin between the
spring of 1983 and the summer of 1985, becoming one of the most relevant bands of the initial phase of the libertarian
and anarchist Italian punk movement.
It was born from the encounter of people from different bands that emerged in the pioneering phase of 1981-82: 5°
Braccio, Fiori del Male and Kina.
Contrazione produced the split album 'Franti/Contrazione' (self-produced, 1984) and the mini album 'Cineocchio. Storia
e Memoria' (Blu Bus, 1985), as well as featuring on the international double album 'International P.E.A.C.E. Benefit
Compilation' (R Radical Records, 1984) and countless tape compilations of that period.
In those years, Contrazione took part in the anarchist punk collective in Turin and was active in the Italian context of
occupations and self-management - from Virus in Milan to small venues such as the Tuwat in Carpi - and extending to
places like Berlin or Amsterdam.
A characteristic of Contrazione's happenings, besides music, is the reading and distribution of political texts, and the use
of tapes and theatrical performances.
In the disintegrating industrial Turin of the early 1980s, the themes of urban desperation, the fight against prisons,
multinationals and commodification, and the self-management of one's own life recurrently permeate the music and
lyrics of Contrazione, who played about fifty shows in Italy and abroad over the period of two years.

Ends, Italian musician Elli de Mon returns with a new full-length
album. Hailing from the northeastern city of Vicenza, for more than a
decade Ellis been thrilling blues audiences across Europe with her
unique take on the form. To say shes a blues singer or blues guitarist
is a considerable understatement: conservatoire-schooled, her oeuvre
encompasses rezophonic guitar, drums, bells, voice and saturated sound
- she is, in every sense, a real one woman band.
Strongly influenced by the primordial blues tradition (Bessie Smith,
Fred Mc Dowell, Son House) crosshatched with primitive garage punk,
Ellis sound is shaped into a lysergic journey through her soul. Sharing
stages with the likes of The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Reverend
Beatman, Cedric Burnside and James Leg, shes released seven albums
since 2014.

I REFUSE IT! - CRONACHE DAL VIDEOTOPO
Area Pirata/Spittle
Records present a reissue of the I Refuse It! compilation Cronache Del
Videotopo, originally released on CD in 2005. Long awaited re-issue for
one of the most influential and controversial post-punk combos of the
"Granducato era". After more than three decades, I Refuse It! are still
quite a great thing. Rock n' roll's later reaching of higher peaks of
brutality finally made acceptable what once was considered noise and
chaos and now make them appear just a bit less subversive, but their
impact is still strongly felt. So, collecting and publishing their
complete output in one album is definitely an historical act.
Differently from Cronache Del Videotopo, the CD published in 2005 by
the glorious Wide Records, the present double LP includes also their
great version of "Atto Di Forza N. 10" from I Ragazzi Del Sole, a real
gem from the '60s Italian beat repertoire. They were certainly a bit
too far out for a large part of the aficionados of "classic punk" but
deserved attention, at least for those who began to be tired of the old
stereotypes. It's no coincidence that in a review of the Permanent
Scar/Sfregio Permanente cassette (1983) in the magazine Il Mucchio
Selvaggio their style was described as "experimental hardcore" and "a
sort of Meat Puppets oriented sound". Finally, between 1982 and 1983,
Italian punk got its spot on the international map. In fact, even if
there were already some Italian punk bands, it was not before the
emergence of the hardcore movement that you could really start talking
about a real Italian scene. Needless to add that this was not just a
simple musical issue, back in the day, for many, hardcore punk was
mainly an attitude and a way of life. In Tuscany, the whole scene
became known under the acronym of GDCH (Granducato Hardcore) and I
Refuse It! (together with CCM, Wardogs, Putrid Fever, Traumatic,
Juggernaut, and others) became one of its most significant bands.
Because of their varied and multiple inspirations and tendency to
experiment, it's hard to consider I Refuse It! as simply a hardcore
band. This double-LP collection compiles their complete recorded output
for the first time and is an essential piece of Italian punk history.

PIAGGIO SOUL COMBINATION, THE - SOULTIMATE
Italian mod
collective unveils floorfilling third album.
The Piaggio Soul Combination is a musical collective hailing from Pisa,
Tuscany, where long-standing mod Marco 'Piaggio' Piaggesi combined the
best singers and musicians of the local Latin-soul scene.
Mixing Italian, American and Caribbean musicians, the band builds solid
polyrhythms, adding upon this foundation tasty basslines and
groove-laden guitars. A tight-as-hell horn-section and a fat organ
sound complete the picture, offering a boiling pot of soul grooves,
up-tempos, latin-Jazz movers and what you could call Northern Soul.
Their first vinyl LP, Italian Boogaloo, released by SanAntonio42, came
out in March 2017, and was well received by critics and audience. A
second full-length, This Is The Piaggio Soul Combination, followed in
January 2019 through IRMA records. This led them to appear on various
national TV shows and to be selected for the Sanremo Rock Festival,
held in Italy's most important theatre, The Ariston. In 2020, they
began their collaboration with Arkansas-bred Lakeetra Knowles, who slid
gracefully into the lead vocal role.

SOVIET SEX - The band operated between Pisa and Pontedera and featured
Gianni 'Gipi' Pacinotti, the famous cartoonist and illustrator, on
vocals. Luca Mazzuoli, the first guitarist, is no longer with us
either, the second guitarist was Dome La Muerte, who later became the
guitarist for CCM and Not Moving, and the drummer was Alessandro
Fantinato, who also later joined CCM. Soviet Sex have no more than
three concerts to their credit. The first of these, that of 6 January
1982 in Pontedera (close to Pisa), is the one proposed in this volume.
LANCIAFIAMME - They were born at the turn of 1982-1983, in the wake
created by the birth of CCM a few years earlier, when Tetano agreed
with twins Luca and Mauro to start playing punk music. The twins were
already playing with the band of an extraordinary musician and
composer, Giancarlo Bianco (Upper Jaw Mask), but Giancarlo's creativity
and refinement were ill-suited to the need for roughness and sonic
impact that Tim and Tom were looking for. By now punk was running
through their veins, and Tetano was the touch of madness they needed to
get going. So the Lanciafiamme started rehearsing on the Victor Charlie
stage until they met Rodolfo. After four or five rehearsals they went
straight into recording the only pieces they had written, which were
released as a seven-inch on Belfagor Records, the GDHC's label, and are
re-released here. DEMENTS - with the Dia-Triba had three elements in
common. Already present in the collection 'Last White Christmas'
because they took part in that concert that marked a milestone in the
evolution of GDHC, the Dements, played something outside the hardcore
mould, also because of the presence of a saxophone. TESTEMARCE - A band
formed in 1982 between Piombino and Pisa, it was a line-up decidedly
inspired by the anarcho-punk of Crass and co., both from a
rhythmic-musical point of view and for its politically committed
lyrics, something not very common in GDHC, and Testemarce was a band
sui generis for other reasons too. It is no coincidence that Ale
Paolucci (Raw Power) and Antonio Cecchi (CCM) shared a musical
background of Crimson, Area, Zappa and others, which contributed to
their musical eclecticism. This also led them to a mini-tour in Holland
organised by Cecchi after the Nog Watts had played at Victor Charlie,
and even played at the legendary Emma in Amsterdam even before CCM.
Here we find most of the only remaining traces of that experience.
DIA-TRIBA - Stefano Santini's band (vocals), who unfortunately passed
away about ten years ago, Dia-triba, from Lucca, are not an HC band,
rather post-punk / new wave, but are nevertheless linked to the Grand
Duchy for what I would call logistical reasons. All the Lucchese bands
of the time (the Brontosauri, the War Dogs, the Sweet Baby Oi, etc.)
passed through their cellar, and that's where A'ufschlag and No Fun
rehearsed. They all had keys to the cellar, which could only remain
open because they had signed a document in which they declared that
they would not host members of the Brigate Rosse (Red Brigades). SWEET
BABY OI - From the same cellar came Sweet Baby Oi, a meteor in the GDHC
scene in the sense that they lasted very little, playing even less
live, but left their mark. Former members of recently disbanded
historical bands were part of SBO! Vetra and Petri had been the drummer
and guitarist of the Wardogs respectively, while Aglio and Roberto
'Pinguino' had been the bassist and singer of the Brontosauri.
