Seventh album by the Us songwriter from San Francisco after the release of his critically acclaimed Blue Rose debut "City lights" in March 1998. In the mid-80s Russ Tolman co-invented the so-called "No depression" sound with guitar rockers TRUE WEST. The new album is a musical cocktail which is hard to define: Is it Cosmic American Music! Tunes for Space Truckers? Trailer Park Techno? Anyway the usual trademark Tolmanisms are there: wicked guitar solos, deep husky voice and witty lyrics. Album also includes contributions from Tolman friends: Steve Wynn, John Wesley harding, Tom Heyman (Go to Blazes) and Dale Duncan. |
